Is Your Bedroom a Sanctuary Yet?
Teenage boys rarely leave them, little kids never tidy them, and Husband still hasn’t learned that there’s laundry basket in there! Depending on your lifestyle, the bedrooms in your homes can fall under a wide spectrum of uses ranging from “occasional napping place” to “can’t drag her out for love nor money!” So, if your bedroom isn’t quite up to scratch yet, here are a few expert design studio tips on how to use simple features like lighting and contemporary bedroom furniture to craft the perfect bedroom sanctuary.
Privacy
All the contemporary furniture in the world may not help you if your bedroom is simply an extra playground for the kids. Our designers are creative types who can be up scribbling and measuring any hour of the day, so a little private nap-time is essential! One of our designers loves to have his kids running about in every room of the house, so has created a sweet little sign to hang on the bedroom door when it’s quiet time (off-limits time) so that the kids know to keep out. This kind of system can be a godsend!
Sofa, So Good!
Of course, any of our modern leather beds fit snugly into the contemporary bedroom, but have you considered a little extra seating? A two-person sofa or armchair can offer wonderful respite, a great place to read quietly, or just somewhere to fling the shopping bags after a long day of retail therapy!
